1.Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.
2.Pull the filter straight out.
3.Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter.
IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your
refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.
4.Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and turn the cap until it snaps into place.
NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place.
5.Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.
6.Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.
7.Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gpm (about 2½ gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
NOTE: Initial rate may be slower than expected. Full rate should be restored within 24-36 hours
8.Reset the “replace filter” light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds.

I ordered the replacements from this new source Clatterans. Well they sent me the filters fast!
The packaging was good. I popped it in, ran out a gallon. The water was clear and taste like the same great to my original one.
I found the filters to be good for 4-5 months in the summer and a little bit longer in winter ( we drink much more in the summer)

Fit perfectly in our Whirlpool. You have to keep the cap that is on your old filter so don't toss it, you move it over to the new one when you install it.
I have a Thermos water bottle that I keep my water in every day, and on my bedside to drink out of. After sitting over night, I could always smell something when I opened my bottle to rinse it out and refill it. I notice that since changing the filter in the fridge, I no longer ever smell anything when I open my Thermos to rinse and refill it. The flow rate is much higher now as well.

These new filters appear to work just as well as the previous ones. No issues so far.

It fits perfectly.
Other filters still left our water with a slightly funky taste. Even when I ran the occasional gallon of water to keep the line clean, it was gross. We bought this filter and now we've got some good water. Our ice hasn't had to be dumped yet and that's a 100% improvement.
Yeah, there must be magic in that filter. Magic, I tell you. Little gnomes are hard at work inside that filter keeping the nasties out. I mean, if they're all plastic tubes with carbon in them, then there's something extra special about this carbon.
so, yeah...you should give this filter a go.
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
