1.Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.
2.Pull the filter straight out.
3.Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter.
IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your
refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.
4.Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and turn the cap until it snaps into place.
NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place.
5.Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.
6.Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.
7.Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gpm (about 2½ gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
NOTE: Initial rate may be slower than expected. Full rate should be restored within 24-36 hours
8.Reset the “replace filter” light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds.

Flushed with 4 gallons as instructed. I detected no strange taste. I note that this Clatterans filter has passed NSF-testing-standards. It is important, as this filter is for water YOU DRINK. Will now consider purchasing annually with Subscribe-and-Save in bulk...

The price on Clatterans is better and of course the price cannot decide its value. But the surprise is that the quality is way good! I have subscribed their filters which will come to me every six months. It is easy and convenient to get a new one whenever necessary without having to go to the effort of finding the proper model number and taking that to the store and searching for the right one. These are easy to install and fit perfectly in my refrigerator. I have never had any trouble installing the filter or with leaks etc. It does the job- water tastes good and I have the peace of mind knowing my family is drinking pure water.
The ice also has no odd smell when I use this filter. I would highly recommend this refrigerator filter from clatterans for your whirlpool fridge.

Bought this for my Kenmore refrigerator. It took me a while to find a filter that was compatible and this one has worked well. It was very easy to install by lining up the prongs inside the filter reservoir and pressing it in til you hear it click. You do have to filter out a few gallons of water before actually drinking it. I think it filters the water pretty well after a few days.

Bought it from Clatterans, the filter has been great. No complaints from me or my family. Water tastes great. Our tap water is softened already, and this filter does a great job.
Setup was easy. Hit the button on the bottom and out she came. Put the new one in and done.
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
