1.Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.
2.Pull the filter straight out.
3.Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter.
IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your
refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.
4.Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and turn the cap until it snaps into place.
NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place.
5.Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.
6.Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.
7.Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gpm (about 2½ gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
NOTE: Initial rate may be slower than expected. Full rate should be restored within 24-36 hours
8.Reset the “replace filter” light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds.

It was really amazing to find this product - Whirlpool EDR3RXD1 on Clatterans at a cheaper price than it was at Sears or any other chain of stores. It works great water, taste fabulous and I now have a subscription for this filter to come to me automatically every 6 months. Thank Clatterans.

Finally Clatterans filter works as good as OEM filter. There are other filters that cost less, but since I'm drinking from this I would prefer to have a filter backed by IAPMO and ISO 9001. After running the required 4 gallons through it, water tasted clean and pure. Will buy again .

saving a few $ thru Clatterans and I'm pleased. Haven't found a way to by-pass the filter system on the Whirlpool Refrigerator to where I can use the RV inline filters which perform the same and are a lot cheaper So, I have them delivered and not have to waste time to see who has them.

Was pretty nervous ordering this for Clatterans is totally new shop. Replace
our old PUR filter with this one – PUR W10121145 and have not experienced any bad tasted etc. The water taste fine.

Works just as good as the original one, but a bit pricier. I have had no problems with taste, leaks, etc. I also inspect everything when I take it out of the package to ensure it has the seals on the inlet and outlet ports, and no cracks in the casing.

This PUR filter 3 works just fine. After reading reviews I was expecting a different taste. I flushed it as the gallons that recommends on the package and cannot taste the difference between this and the old PUR ones. No issues with leaking. All I drink is water so I'd have noticed a taste difference. Works fine.
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
