1. Locate the filter cartridge holder in the back upper right hand corner of the refrigerator. To open the cartridge cover, where indicated, push in and the cover will drop down
2. Remove the old filter by slowly rotating it to the left. A small amount of water may drip down
3. Remove the red protective plug from the end of the new cartridg
4. Position the cartridge inside the cartridge holder. Slowly rotate the cartridge to the right until it stops. When the cartridge is properly installed, you will feel it “click” as it locks into place. The blade on the end of the cartridge should be positioned vertically. Do not overtighten
5. Close the cartridge cover.
6. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes (approximately 3 gallons) to clear the system and prevent air from entering the system
7. Locate the included Water Filter Replacement Calendar. Place the dark circle over the month that you installed your new filter. The light circle will indicate your tentative next replacement month. (This cycle can vary with water conditions and frequency of use).

Good fit and no other filter comes close to removing all the things like this does.I change it every half a year and my whole family drinks from it, why not get this?

This makes our water taste perfect! Our fridge water dispenser started running really slow so I thought it could be from buildup in the filter. Sure enough that's what it was. As soon as I replaced it, the original water speed is back. Easy to change out.

It helps to flush it before drinking anything from this Whirlpool Filter 4 replacement. Glad I bought it.

The water filter guide was very helpful as all the filters can be confusing and you want to get the right filter.
The filters preformed as good as the original filter that came with the refrigerator.
I still have yet to find out how many contaminates that the filters, that Clatterans sells, eliminates from the water and ice supply.
My filter monitor on the refrigerator lasted for approximately one year.
I am buying again.

I replace my Maytag refrigerator/freezer water filter every year and this year was no different. The product is great and delivery is fast!
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
