Locate the accessory packet in the refrigerator and remove the water filter.
2. Take the water filter out of its packaging and remove the cover from the 0-rings. Be sure the 0-rings are still in place after the cover is removed.
NOTE: There may be some water in the filter. Some spilling may occur. Use a towel to wipe up any spills.
3. Align the arrow on the water filter label with the cutout notch in the filter housing and insert the filter into the housing.
4. Turn the filter clockwise until it locks into the housing.
NOTE: If the filter is not correctly locked into the housing, the water dispenser will not operate. Water will not flow from the dispenser.
5. While the compartment door is still open, lift the filter up into the compartment Then, close the filte compartment doo completely.
6. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gp(about 2.5 gallons) to clear the system and preven sputtering.

These EDR2RXD1 water filters are so necessary with the amount of impurities that they have been finding in the country's' drinking water. It makes our water taste delicious.

The W10413645A works as advertised. But the price is a little too expensive.

We have a Kitchenaid Model: KRMF706EBS. The
" Drop" branded filter that came with fridge made the water taste like hose water.
After installing this filter and running 3 gallons through it, the water almost tastes the same as my countertop zero water filter (which we love).
Highly recommend this filter and it's a great price.
Thank you Clatterans!!

Fits perfect in Kitchenaid fridge. Takes about 1 gallon of water to filter out the black carbon. Get marked improvement over city water taste.

This water filter replaced my original factory installed filter on my Whirlpool Gold Series french door stainless steel fridge and there was NO noticeable difference in water taste, noise, or dispensing water pressure. Installation was easy. The quality of the filter didn't feel like a cheap knockoff. I will buy again.
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
