1. Locate the water filter in the top-right corner of the refrigerator compartment and open the cover door. The filter will be released and then be ejected as the door is opened.
2. When the door is completely open, pull the filter straight out.
NOTE: There may be some water in the filter. Some spilling may occur. Use a towel to wipe up any spills.
3. Take the new filter out of its packaging and remove the covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.
4. With the arrow pointing to the left (toward the filter cover door’s hinge), align the new filter with the filter housing and slide it into place. The filter cover door will automatically begin to close as the new filter is inserted.
5. Close the filter cover door completely in order to snap the filter into place. You may need to press hard.
6. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gpm (about 2½ gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
NOTE: Initial rate may be slower than expected. Full rate should be restored within 24-36 hour
7. Reset the “replace filter” light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds.

I have had a refrigerator designed for the PUR water filtration system for almost 10 years. I was always very happy with my water filters. Great taste, and as far as I could tell, clean water. Never a chlorine smell, even when the water sat in a water bottle over night.
These Clatterans filters are just the same. They do a very nice job, and I have experienced this with every filter I have had. They have even lasted longer than I have expected.
We drink a lot of water in my house, and this filter keeps the water tasting nice and clean for 4 months, even during the summer when our water intake is at its highest. This is a good quality filter, that I am very pleased with. 4 months of nice tasting, clean water,
I am very satisfied and will continue to purchase these filters as long as they are made.

Very good filter, I live in a hard water area where the water out the tap is almost grey! this provides cool, drinkable water and lasts well over the manufacturers 6 month recommendation!

Before installing this filter, I would fight the urge to drink water frequently.
The city claimed ""the were fixing something"" as the water had a faint smell of bass. I believe at one point they were pumping it directly from a local pond.
Once this filter was installed, the brown tint to the water was diminished and the water returned to being crystal clear and odorless. Almost like it came directly from a cold spring.
I have tried substitutes in the past, but this filter is the SH*t.
I look forward to filling my cup with this delicacy of refreshment. It has a certain glow as it spews from the refrigerator.
I am now fully hydrated and feeling refreshed.
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
