I ordered the 3-pack of these last year and am now using the second filter, they work fine just like the much more expensive pur filters. In fact, my experience is that the water tastes BETTER using these, but that is just my own subjective judgment. Today I re-ordered and this time got the 6 pack, and will be all set for 3 years at least. It's been so hard to find these at a reasonable price over the years, now that I found good inexpensive ones I've stocked up. I thought maybe because these are cheap they wouldn't last as long, but the one I just replaced was in for more than 6 months and water still tastes fine. This was not the case with pur filters I've purchased in recent years, those seemed to wear out after only a few months.

This is the BEST water filter and best Christmas gift I get. House water taste better than purchased bottled water. Wish they weren't so pricey, but the water quality is amazing!

I have tried the off brand, cheaper replacement filter and it didn't work very well. I recommend buying this filter if you want to filter your water in your whirlpool refrigerator.
